The topic of this photographic essay is based on the proposed controversial Traveston Crossing Dam issue.

With the aid of the Maroochy Shire Council as financial supporter in this project through the RADF program, Birgit was delegated the opportunity in taking historic photographs of the proposed site regardless of the eventual outcome. Thanks too Maroochy Shire Council.

With the photographic skills of Birgit's professional and artistic work, her hopes are to show the social and economic factors affecting our local community by a government's unilateral decision to build a dam over a sensitive eco system coupled with important agricultural land. This exhibition also hopes to highlight the David and Goliath struggle and indomitable determination of this community's attempts to overcome this particular government's “Damocracy”.
